DFC Bobby Beverly

Annually, the Florida Sheriffs Association selects a Corrections Officer of the Year based on outstanding service. In 2017, it was Charlotte County Corrections DFC Bobby Beverly who was recognized for his leadership skills and awards earned during his 13 years with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. Off duty, he helped save the life of a young neighbor who was accidently run over by a car in October. The 17-month-old victim’s mother, Courtney Acevedo, sought Beverly’s assistance. He sprang into action by contacting 911 and keeping the toddler mobilized and awake. A grateful mother attributes Deputy Beverly’s training and quick thinking as the reasons her daughter is alive today.
