Charlotte Symphony Orchestra

The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra brightened the spirits of young patients, families and staff last year with a free performance of its holiday pops concert at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Fort Myers. The music soared skyward in the hospital’s atrium, enabling even those patients who couldn’t make it to the lobby to listen in. And what would a holiday concert be without Santa? Mr. Claus (aka Doug Mac- Gregor) made a guest appearance to conduct a rousing rendition of “Sleigh Ride.” (When Mr. MacGregor isn’t raising a baton, he coordinates Lee Health’s Arts in Healthcare program.) Kudos to all involved for bringing the joy of music to some kids sorely in need of a lift.
