Boys & Girls Club campers to present musical
The children of the Boys and Girls Club of Charlotte County, in conjunction with the Charlotte Players’ Kids OnStage program, will present the musical “The Ever After” at 7 p.m. Friday, July 30, at the Cultural Center of Charlotte County theater. Full Story
Yacht Club to host special day for kids
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, the Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club will host 50 children ages 9 to 12 from the Boys & Girls Club of Charlotte County.
This will be the first Kids Day hosted by the yacht club, whose members want to give the children a day to remember. Full Story
Bank awards bonds to young artists
Charlotte State Bank awarded $50 U.S. Savings Bonds to the three winners of the bank’s Fourth of July Coloring Contest for children. Charlotte State Bank invited entries in each of three age groups: ages 6 and younger, ages 7 to 9 and ages 10 to 12. Contest winners were:

CCSO sergeant brings home the gold
Sgt. Billy Gorman recently brought home 18 medals from two competitions. On June 13-16, he participated in the Ohio Police & Fire Games in Toledo. He then on to the Florida Police & Fire Games June 19-23 in Port St. Lucie, for a total of 13 gold, three silver and two bronze medals. Full Story
School Carnival donations accepted
Charlotte State Bank is accepting donations of school supplies for Charlotte County students in need of assistance for the upcoming school year. Supplies collected at the bank will be distributed free during the Back to School Carnival at the Cultural Center of Charlotte County on July 31. Full Story
