¦ Cruise-In - Muscle Car City holds a free monthly Cruise-In for show-car owners and spectators on the third Saturday of each month from 4-7 p.m. Next event: Aug. 21.

¦ Kid Cruises - King Fisher Fleet, headquartered at Fishermen’s Village in Punta Gorda, invites kids to cruise free on any King Fisher cruise for the month of August. Trips include Cabbage Key and Cayo Costa. Advance reservations are suggested. 639-0969.

¦ Sizzling Art - The “Summer Sizzler” Exhibit runs until Aug. 13 at the Visual Arts Center, 210 Maud St., Punta Gorda. The all-member art exhibit features traditional and contemporary 2D, sculpture and fine crafts. 639-8810.

¦ Art Show - The Henry August exhibit can be viewed through August at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E. Marion Ave., Punta Gorda. The exhibit is part of the Arts & Humanities Council’s Art in Public Places program. 639-1133 or 764-8100.

¦ Plein Air Art - More than 60 plein air paintings are on display in the Goff Gallery at the Visual Arts Center, 210 Maud St., Punta Gorda, through Aug. 12.

¦ Art Exhibit - Creating Masterpieces Custom Picture Framing features Peter Gaztambini’s abstracts as well as Patt Bacon’s Florida watercolor series for the summer. The gallery is located at 2681 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte. 627-4658.

¦ Open Market - Every Thursday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., there is an Open Market for all vendors, businesses, and anyone who has anything to sell, held in the Fountain Room of the Cultural Center of Charlotte County. Tables are $25; 10 percent discount if you sign up for the month. 625-4175, ext 253.
