Four Points by Sheraton Punta Gorda Harborside earns Hotel of the Year award
SPECIAL TO FLORIDA WEEKLY
Starwood Hotels recently named Four Points by Sheraton Punta Gorda Harborside “Starwood North America 2010 Four Points Hotel of the Year.” It is the company’s most prestigeous award.
Stephen Svecak, general manager of the hotel and John Zaccari, CEO of A2Z Hospitality Management, accepted the award, presented by Denise Coll, Starwood Hotel’s president of North America hotel operations.
Earlier in the year, the hotel earned Starwood’s award as Highest Ranking Guest Service Score. In 2010, the Punta Gorda hotel earned the highest ranking among Starwood hotels from TripAdvisor.
“It’s an honor to be recognized as the Starwood North America 2010 Four Points Hotel of the Year and a leader in guest service,” said Four Points’ General Manager Stephen Svecak. “This award represents the hard work our team dedicates to the hotel and our guests.”
Starwood Hotels selects the best of each hotel brand by reviewing the properties’ performance in the areas of guest satisfaction, quality assurance, revenue management and profitability to determine the best of each hotel brand.
Four Points by Sheraton Punta Gorda Harborside opened in May 2009 as the first newly-constructed hotel in the Four Points by Sheraton concept. The 106- room hotel’s tagline, “Where luxury meets affordability,” is embodied in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere with unexpected amenities. The hotel is steps away from historic downtown Punta Gorda, the Charlotte Harbor Event & Conference Center and the Peace River. Many rooms offer views of the water and nearby marina. The hotel is managed by A2Z Hospitality Management based in Sarasota, Fla.
