Babcock Ranch Florida

General Information
At Babcock Ranch, we’re wild about life! We believe in the importance of Civitas – a basic hometown pride and a calling to participate and belong. Civitas is the foundation that unites us and is defined by the pride we take in this place where we live, learn, work, and play. We each contribute to the expanding story of our town, and celebrate the individual and collective memories, achievements, and milestones that are the rich stuff of life.

At Babcock Ranch, we would rather walk or ride a bike than drive. We are stewards of the environment, and proud to say our town is the first solar town in the country. We know one another and call each other by name. We love Babcock’s green spaces, lakes, trails, and preserves just as we appreciate the timeless styles of our neighborhoods and places of learning and commerce. The future of our town is sustained by the sheer joy we take in living here. We invite you to join us in creating that future!

CAN A TOWN MAKE YOU HEALTHIER?
It would have to be walkable. And bikeable. Even kayakable. With miles and miles of trails, creeks, lakes, and more.
Fresh food would have to be as convenient as fast food. And the Doctor’s office would be within walking distance.
Or even as close as your laptop. It would have to be a place where you don’t just live, you thrive. Can a town make
you healthier? This one can.

in Lake Timber at Babcock Ranch
Furnished models by Homes by
Towne, Stock Development, Flor-ida
Lifestyle Homes, and Fox Pre-mier
Builders are open for viewing
at Babcock Ranch, a new 18,000-acre
eco-centric, solar powered town being
developed by Kitson & Partners 20 min-utes
east of Fort Myers off Florida State
Road 31 in Charlotte County just north
of the Lee Civic Center. The models are
situated in Babcock’s Lake Timber neigh-borhood
and showcase the town’s Crafts-man,
Farmhouse, Coastal Gulf Vernacular,
Spanish, and Colonial/West Indies archi-tectural
styles. Base-pricing of the model
floor plans ranges from the mid-$300’s to
the low $500’s. All residences at Babcock
Ranch are built to Florida Green Building
Coalition Certification standards.
Lake Timber’s lakefront green spaces
and pathways, internal lakes, trail head
facilities, lakeside fishing dock, observa-tion
deck, and Babcock Ranch’s first town
garden reflect Kitson’s commitment to
connecting with nature. Lake Timber is
a short walk or bike ride from Founder’s
Square, a 13-acre lakefront green space
that anchors Babcock’s downtown dis-trict
and features a band shell, board-walk,
splash pad, picnic tables, and shady
areas for relaxing. Live music is featured
at the band shell Tuesday and Saturday
evenings. The Table & Tap restaurant
provides an indoor and outdoor lakefront
dining experience. An 80-year old oak
tree transplanted from the Babcock prop-erty
provides a backdrop for the restau-rant’s
beer garden. Woodlea Hall is home
to the Discovery Center and to Curry
Creek Outfitters that serves those eager
to enjoy Babcock’s 50-miles of nature
trails and numerous lakes. The Babcock
Neighborhood School has opened for the
2017-2018 school year. Slater’s Goods &
Provisions - a market that will offer a
coffee shop, grab and go items, and the
Square Scoops ice cream shop - and The
Hatchery that will provide emeritus-level
consultative opportunities are slated for
completion later this summer. Construc-tion
of a wellness center is underway and
scheduled for completion next spring.
Lake Timber’s Lake House neighbor-hood
center is nearing completion and
will include a lakefront pool, barbe-cue
area, and play-ground.
Inspired by
the historic Cypress
Lodge on the neigh-boring
Babcock
Ranch Preserve, the
2,400-square foot
Lake House features
soaring ceilings with
exposed 24 x 24-inch
beams and a two-sided
stone fireplace.
Exposed wood and
natural materials used
throughout the cen-ter
compliment Lake
Timber’s natural setting. Open interior
spaces offer gathering places for neigh-borhood
events. The interior showcases a
family room-style seating area around the
fireplace, a game room, and a kitchenette.
Outside features a barbecue area with
a grill, a 2,000-square foot deck, a 2,200
square-foot pool, bathhouse, playground,
and an expansive lawn.
